Several Black & Decker US facilities are required to file Toxic Reduction Inventories (TRI) with the US EPA each year.  These reports include information on the quantity of emissions and releases to the environment of chemicals of key concern to the EPA.  Our record is one of substantial decrease in the quantity of material our manufacturing operations release to the environment.

The significant drop in TRI emissions between 1997 and 1998 reflects the conversion from solvent-based cleaners and surface coatings to aqueous cleaners and powder coatings.
